Create your club

You make your club in Sideline in about five minutes. When you finish, Sideline opens your setup checklist.

Before you start

Have these ready:

  • The club name exactly as the FA has it.
  • The club's main address. This is often the clubhouse or the Secretary's address. Parents do not see it.
  • Your charity or company number, if the club has one.

Create your club

  1. Open the Sideline sign-up page.

  2. Enter How many teams do you run? Count every team that plays in a league. Sessions with no league, such as Wildcats, are free.

  3. Read the price shown for your teams. The price is not final until Sideline sets it. You pay nothing today, and you can change the number of teams later.

  4. Select Start with your number of teams.

  5. Enter your first name, last name, email and a password. Select Create account.

  6. Open the email from Sideline and select the link. The link works for 24 hours.

If the email does not arrive, look in your junk folder. Club email addresses sometimes hold links for a while. You can select Send it again, or Use a different email.

  7. On the club form, enter the club name, the address, and how the club is set up.

  8. Tick the Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) box only if HMRC has registered the club as a CASC.

  9. Read the Sideline terms. Tick I agree to the Sideline terms for the club. If a committee runs the club, you agree on the committee's behalf.

  10. Decide about Save time with AI paste. This is optional. If you want to paste pages from the FA Club Portal and let AI suggest your officials, teams and venues, tick all four boxes. You can skip it and turn it on later in Settings, AI.

  11. Select Create my club.

Sideline opens your setup checklist. See Set up your club with the setup checklist.

Common questions

The first time, Sideline confirms your email and signs you in. The second time, Sideline confirms your email again and asks you to sign in.

Why must the club name be exactly as the FA has it?

Sideline uses the name to match your fixtures on FA Full-Time. If the name is different, fixtures do not match.

Can I change the number of teams later?

Yes. See Change your Sideline plan.

What does the AI paste section do?

If you tick all four boxes, AI paste is on from the start, and the paste steps in your setup checklist open straight away. You still check every suggestion before Sideline saves it. If you leave the boxes empty, Sideline asks you the same four questions the first time you paste. Any Owner can turn AI paste off in Settings, AI.

I already have a Sideline account. Do I sign up again?

No. Sign in first. Sideline takes you from the plan page straight to the club form.
